Small Debt Collections
Question: Question about a small debt?

To make a long story short, I made the mistake of adding a friend on my phone bill. Well, she ran up the bill and I dont know where she is now.. she dissappered and now I owe about $600 in collections and I dont have that money. Im only 19 and this mistake ruined my credit… These people call me atleast 5 times a day.. even at 8 am to 10 pm and I told them I will pay small amounts (like $50/every 2 weeks) which is all i can really afford and they said i cant do that. Now they want my bank info and said something about a promise to my credit… any advice? I have never been in a situation like this before. Thanks

Answer: Don’t sweat it! They cannot refuse a payment whether it is only $10 a month. They have to accept it! If they do not accept it, just make copies of the transaction and if they would take you to court or whatever you can show proof that you had made an attempt to pay the debt! They may put it on your credit report, however, once the bill is paid in full it will be marked as paid. I would do anything and everything to find the person that still owes you the money for the bill and when you find them take them to small claims court. That is my best advice.

Question: Anyone have any horror stories from using a debt consolidation company?

I am single guy, with a house, looking to lighten the load on my wallet. I was hoping to combine a small loan, an old credit card bill and my mortgage into “one lower monthly payment” like all the ads claim, but I want to know if there is a down side. Also, I am about as financially challenged as they come so keep any responses in easy-to-understand terms. Thanks!

Answer: I have two stories….
one is a family did this and they ended up in much worse trouble a year later….they had to get in touch with an attorney and the attorney general to get them out of the bad consolidation companies grasps…and then they went with a company the attorney helped them get…

and now the second story, is also from the first story…they had more debt after the first company messed with their credit and added much more charges onto the families bills…but the one the attorney helped the family get…LOWERED the monthly outlay of money for the family and it is working fantastic for them NOW….
so please be careful, very careful on who you work with….email the Attorney General and ask about the companies you are thinking of using to see if they are OK to use…not all are good to use…
do your home work first, and before you sign, make sure you know what your getting into, they will all try to sweet talk you into signing their papers…

good luck

Question: fincancial advice- family wants to get back on track and into a place of our own again?

my dh and I have two girls (7 years old & 2 month old) and are currently “stuck” living with my grandparents. We have been for over 1 yr. Trying to get things paid off and such- but its going so slow- we put every extra cent we have into things- that it’s going to take 20 years to get things done. We are about $18,00 in debt- & because of bad early life choices my credit is HORRIBLE. I’m fixing it- just takes lots of time & some days feels like it will never end. I tried for a debt consolidation loan (2 years ago) but was denied. We owe my grandparents about 2500 and we arent allowed to move until it’s all paid.. I’m on maternity leave now (daughter is only 5 weeks old) so for now- we only have 1 income and after bills and his student loan payment- theres nothing left. I just don’t know how much longer i can handle our family of 4 living in 2 small rooms at their house. i’m going crazy. hehe. Any financial Advice for me???

Answer: I know a lot of answerers after me are going to tell you "No, they're bad! Run away as fast as you can!!", but I feel like I have the responsibility of letting you know. You should try to find your closest Primerica office through the yellow pages, usually under financial planners. They deal with getting you back on your feet into financial freedom. My boyfriend is working Primerica and I'm going to join him soon. I've gone to every training seminar with him and I know they can help. Even if you have sucky credit (like I do) they can help get all your debt into one loan. Trust me, we've had clients come in and testify how Primerica has helped them a lot. You have to at least call them and hear them out... a lot of the things they tell you can help you in the long run anyways, even if you don't end up getting any financial products with them...and only they can help you get a game plan going to get into financial freedom.

Question: I work with a firm that offers services to small businesses, how do I approach them?

I work with a company that offers services to small businesses (less than a 100 employees), as well as those that are self employeed and work out of their home in many states.

Our services are designed to protect and grown businesses by giving them access to services that BIG business enjoy, such as consultations with Accountants, Tax Advisors, HR Directors, IT Managers, Hosting a website and putting it together with unlimited changes. In addition to all of this my firm is there to protect the business legally by offering consultations, contract review, debt collection, and representation in civil suits among a few other things.

I am very excited to be involved, I am just not sure how to approach my target market. It seems people are so inundated with information that they are in a blur or they can’t see how so much could be offered for so little. I need ideas of how to get them to see it, but more importantly see me.
Thanks

Answer: Have you thought about pay per click programs? The two biggest, I think, are Yahoo! and Google

A few free resources – check out the sources box for links:

1) Create a blog pertaining to your field

2) Use Yahoo! Local & Yahoo! Groups – Be sure to read the TOS for each one!

3) Write articles pertaining to your field and/or expertise.

4) Advertise on Craiglist

Also, consider signing up for an affiliate program. These programs enable you to advertise on other's sites (your affiliates) and once a sale is made to you, your affiliates & the program are paid a commission.

If you work for a translation agency as a translator, you have to deal with a variety of texts from different areas that have to be translated into different languages every day. To ensure that the resulting translations are linguistically and technically correct, they are usually proofread by another native speaker, who corrects even small subtleties and nuances in word meanings and expressions, if necessary. Translators who work for a translation agency not only speak several languages perfectly, but also have specific knowledge in different areas so that they can translate even technical, scientific or legal texts with great accuracy.

Translation agencies are also at service in international trading and global transportation. They translate, for example, order lists, product lists and other important documents. Also, they grant fluent communication between international trade partners, since they transcribe all correspondence between the participating companies. In the financial sector a translation agency may also be of valuable service. The translators can translate contracts and important documents for banks and insurance companies.

But the translators in a translation agency not only translate technical texts or documents that are used in international trade and economy. They also translate certificates and personal documents an individual customer may need. For small businesses a translation agency can also be useful for the translation and localization of their website, if they want to reach foreign language speaking customers – the entire website including graphics as well as terms and conditions can be adapted for foreign markets.

Thus, a translator working for a translation agency always has a variety of texts and documents on his desk, which keep his work interesting and diverse.
