Us Government Debt Consolidation Loans

Question: Financial Problems and NEED help FAST!!?
Ok here is the thing, we have been VERY STUPID in the past and as a lot of americans do we are living very outside of our budget!! We have taken out several small secured loans, and need help to pay everything now! I am in college and my husband works like crazy, I also have a part time job but it basicly pays for daycare for my children so that i can go to school. We make too much money for any kind of government help but not enought to make ends meet. We have recently tried to attempt debt consolidation but all the companies we tried could not help us with the loans!! We are slipping farther and farther behind each month and desperately need help!! IS there ANY advice that ANYone could give us?? We are at the point of considering bankruptsy but don’t really know what it would do for us if anything!! We really need help or we will loose everything that we have, which is not much, really just our car that we owe more on than it is worth. OH yea to top it all off, we have bad credit!
Answer: First evaluate everything you spend money on. Write down everything that you purchase, monthly expenses gas, food everything. Most people find that they can save tons of money monthly by see where there money goes. In the beginning of your overhaul only pay the minimums on ur revolving accounts while paying the other bills in full. As you notice that there is extra money around, focus on one CC (lowest balance) and pay that off ASAP by applying any extra money to that account. And continue that until all revolving accounts are paid off.
Also- I received my bachelors degree last year and I am currently in graduate school, you can work full time and still get your schooling done. I did and so do many others. You need to plan on getting a full time job and scheduing your classes around your work. Your children may miss you a little but hopefully if your husband is supportive then he will take care of everything. In the long run- your family will appreciate you for getting your education and maintaining a home simultaneously. It can also inspire your kids to do whatever it takes to get what they are looking for in life. Good Luck

Government Backed Debt Consolidation Loans
Question: Loan Consolidation: My Situation and the Air Force?
Howdy. After several years of attending different universities and accruing massive debt with still two years until a degree, I am now in the process of joining the Air Force so that I can get a career started and start paying off my loans.
My private loans have totaled up to 40K, and the government/state loans have totaled up to 15K. I am obviously looking into consolidating these loans since I am currently paying four different lenders. My credit is great so I am not worried about that. How should I go about approaching my situation and which lenders would you recommend?
I am also considering going back to college several years into the Air Force, which I will be able to get paid for by the military though. Will this cause any problems?
Hopefully I can get some good info so I can research your suggestions further. Thanks
Answer: Go with a name brand consolidation company, such as a large bank and you should be protected from some of the risks. There are a lot of unscrupulous lenders out there who will hide fees, charge you very high interest rates if you miss even one payment, or charge you a penalty if you pay back the loan too quickly.
Also, be careful not to consolidate the loans that have low interest rates or good terms; for example, your government loans may have a very low interest rate or be subsidized while you are in school. Don't lose these benefits by consolidating those loans.
You may also want to consider asking the lenders if you can put your payments on hold or if they have special terms of service members. A lot of businesses will give military service members better rates and deals out of respect. Some government loans even have a loan forgiveness program if you enter the military, so you could automatically lower your debt right there!
It's definitely worth a call to all of your lenders to see if they have any of these sorts of deals for servicemen and servicewomen.
Going back to school and having the military pay for the rest of your schooling shouldn't cause any problems. Your debt from before the military will still have to be paid off, however.

Question: fincancial advice- family wants to get back on track and into a place of our own again?
my dh and I have two girls (7 years old & 2 month old) and are currently “stuck” living with my grandparents. We have been for over 1 yr. Trying to get things paid off and such- but its going so slow- we put every extra cent we have into things- that it’s going to take 20 years to get things done. We are about $18,00 in debt- & because of bad early life choices my credit is HORRIBLE. I’m fixing it- just takes lots of time & some days feels like it will never end. I tried for a debt consolidation loan (2 years ago) but was denied. We owe my grandparents about 2500 and we arent allowed to move until it’s all paid.. I’m on maternity leave now (daughter is only 5 weeks old) so for now- we only have 1 income and after bills and his student loan payment- theres nothing left. I just don’t know how much longer i can handle our family of 4 living in 2 small rooms at their house. i’m going crazy. hehe. Any financial Advice for me???
Answer: I know a lot of answerers after me are going to tell you "No, they're bad! Run away as fast as you can!!", but I feel like I have the responsibility of letting you know. You should try to find your closest Primerica office through the yellow pages, usually under financial planners. They deal with getting you back on your feet into financial freedom. My boyfriend is working Primerica and I'm going to join him soon. I've gone to every training seminar with him and I know they can help. Even if you have sucky credit (like I do) they can help get all your debt into one loan. Trust me, we've had clients come in and testify how Primerica has helped them a lot. You have to at least call them and hear them out... a lot of the things they tell you can help you in the long run anyways, even if you don't end up getting any financial products with them...and only they can help you get a game plan going to get into financial freedom.
